One gift and two commissions. :)

Today was a good day.

Rather productive day. I have some new work and a few works in progress to share.  I also took my lovely dog for a walk through the forest preserve. The weather today was fantastic; an oddly warm day for the end of October so I just couldn't resist. She was a happy camper.  I found some milkweed while I was out there and it was the perfect timing because the pods were open and just waiting to send fluffy seeds out into the wind. : )

Commissions

I have just recently completed two custom tattoo designs for a couple of girls on Etsy, who just so happen to be sisters. I am really thrilled with how they turned out and I now have pictures of both of their tattoos.  How cool is that? : ) Now, I just need to learn to tattoo so I can do the work myself!

Ok here it is, my graduation style guide! I started with the ruby slippers because I think they would be so unique and pretty under a graduation gown. I then added aqua, red and peach elements to tie it all together. Enjoy!

I made a new treasury. I made two actually, but the first one disappeared because of some kind of glitch. Here is the one I have; Bon Voyage Graduates!
I will have to try and figure out what I put in the first one and make it again. This one is dedicated to the new graduates who will be leaving the nest and spreading their wings. Hopefully some will choose to travel before going to college, or while they are in college. I feel so lucky to have been able to do some traveling with my former church group.

Heart . Ache

One of my dogs passed away this morning. Her name was Lady and she was 14 years old. She was part Dalmation and part Belgium Springer Spaniel. And I loved her. There's not much more to say than that.

Me and JB went and flew kites that afternoon and it was perfect kite weather. I love my kite that he made; I will have to get a picture of it next time. I started playing on Treasury East and wow it is so much better than the classic treasury. You can make a list whenever you want, make multiple lists and they don't expire! My first one I selected a bunch of artwork I like. Fantastic Freaking Artwork

I am all about supporting artists on Etsy and I can't wait for the day that I can actually afford to buy some! Actually my very first Etsy purchase was an original drawing that I still love.

I am planning a garage sale next weekend and will need to get my butt in gear in organizing and pricing my things. And then May 1st I can start moving into my new place with Justin! I am so excited and will update with pictures when I can!

I am so thrilled to find out that I was featured in todays Etsy finds! I was just checking my email and there it was! My custom pet portrait listing. I also had my first front page just the other day! What a great feeling, I have been hoping for this for a long time! Thank you Etsy!

Today is my boyfriend's sister's birthday and I was feeling creative last night so I drew a portrait of one of her sons to give to her as a birthday present. I am really happy with how it turned out and I hope she likes it!

Wow!!

My beautiful best friend got engaged tonight! Holy cow, I am so happy for her! I can't wait to see her ring and give her a big hug.

I made the BEST Peanut Butter Cookie Sandwiches yesterday

Yum Yum

These cookies are chewy and crumbly and super sweet. 

I used the following recipes:

 Best Peanut Butter Cookies Ever for the cookies and Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies for the filling.

• 2 cups peanut butter
• 2 cups white sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 teaspoons baking soda
• 1 pinch salt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

I like this recipe because it is simple. I did add a 1/2 cup of flour just 'cause. Click the link for directions.

Cookie Filling

• 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
• 3 cups confectioners' sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 5 tablespoons milk
• You basically mix all the ingredients and keep adding milk until it has a smooth consistency. I needed a lot more than 5 tablespoons.

Freshen Up

Great week marked with quite a few ups and downs. I am making some changes and it feels so good. I am working on forgiving people who have let me down. Today I did a little bit of cleaning, a lot of blog reading and will finish with drawing and tv watching. : )
